The Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) is spearheading the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into sports governance, development, and content creation. In collaboration with SportERP, ASOIF is assisting federations with rapid, scalable, and cost-effective content creation training using the latest available AI tools.

This effort is part of a broader vision to ensure AI is adopted responsibly across International Federations (IFs), empowering them with practical applications while maintaining high standards of quality, ethics, and strategic alignment.

Reimagining Content Creation in Sports

AI as a Co-Creator: From Planning to Post-Processing

SportERP and ASOIF explored the end-to-end potential of Generative AI by piloting a complete AI-assisted content creation journey, structured into five key phases:

Planning - Refining ideas and structuring content with AI prompting.
Scripting - Creating multilingual scripts using tools like ChatGPT and Claude.
Filming - Using avatar platforms such as HeyGen for scalable video production.
Editing - Leveraging tools like SubMagic and InVideo for rapid, automated editing.
Post-Processing - Generating thumbnails, infographics, and multilingual voiceovers.

This approach demonstrated how IFs can significantly reduce time and costs, while enhancing personalisation and multilingual access to educational content.

Building Capacity Through LLM Education

SportERP facilitated the delivery of LLM (Large Language Model) training sessions, focusing on:

Understanding how LLMs work (context windows, hallucinations, training data).
Prompt engineering skills - including structure, constraints, and creativity.
Using memory-aware prompting tools for project scripting and knowledge retention.

This foundational education aimed to equip sports administrators and educators with the skills to effectively use AI tools, ensuring confident, safe adoption across diverse teams and levels of digital maturity.

AI in the Service of Sports Governance

Supporting the R-SWIFT Pillars

The discovery phase aligns with ASOIF's R-SWIFT pillars, particularly:

"Purposeful Innovation" - applying AI with intentionality to solve real IF challenges.
"Responsible AI Adoption" - ensuring accuracy, transparency, and oversight in outputs.
"Federation Readiness" - helping IFs assess their operational maturity for AI integration.

Through this collaboration, SportERP provided practical templates and prototype scripts, allowing federations to experiment with AI outputs and assess their quality against real-world use cases in sport governance, education, and fan engagement.

Case Study Highlight: Badmintoo

As part of the pilot, SportERP drew on its experience with Badmintoo.com, where AI had already been used to:

Create educational content for coaches and players.
Translate and localise videos for international audiences.
Enable lean start-up production of high-quality video content.

This case provided a real-world benchmark for federations to understand the balance between AI automation and manual refinement, helping to shape the content strategy for R-SWIFT.

Lessons Learned and Future Roadmap

Key insights from the discovery phase include:

Early adopters gain a competitive edge, but must be supported with training.
AI outputs require human oversight - especially for fact-checking and tone.
Content creation can be templated, enabling federations to scale without massive budgets.
There is strong appetite for multilingual, modular, evergreen educational content.

Looking forward, SportERP will continue working with ASOIF and interested IFs to:

Develop custom AI content pipelines for education, communication, and development.
Provide LLM training toolkits tailored to the sport sector.
Integrate AI into wider SportERP governance and performance tools, linking innovation with operations.
